Reign Mosby

Reign Mosby is a junior at Clark Atlanta University pursuing a degree in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in radio, television, and film. She is dedicated to using journalism to amplify underrepresented voices, particularly within the entertainment industry. Her goal is to become an entertainment journalist who not only informs but also advocates for mental health and wellness among creatives and public figures.

Daria Craddock

Daria craddock is the third recipient of the Ethel Payne Empowerment Foundation, Inc. Scholarship.  She is a 2024 graduate of Richard Wright Public Charter School. Daria is attending Virginia state University.

MARIANELA RIVAS

Marianela Rivas is the Second recipient of the Ethel Payne Empowerment Foundation, Inc. Scholarship.  She is a 2024 graduate of Banneker Academic High School. Marianna is attending Fordham University.

2023 EPEF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

Mariana Bermudez


Mariana Bermudez is the first recipient of the Ethel Payne Empowerment Foundation, Inc. Scholarship.  She is a 2023 graduate of Calvin Coolidge High School’s Early College Academy. Ms. Bermudez graduated with a 4.45 GPA and earned an associate degree from Trinity University.  Marianna is now a freshman at Northwestern University majoring in broadcast journalism.

In the beginning, unaccompanied minors were a group of children I would hear about on the news; after drafting my paper, unaccompanied minors became a part of who I was and what it meant for me to be a supporter of immigrant rights. It uncovered new aspects in me: the humanitarian aspect that wanted to bring change where many were not willing to contribute, and the activist aspect that realized how powerful its voice could be if it was brave enough to use it.
